FILMING EXPERIENCE
At the Martha's Vineyard African American Film Festival (MVAAFF), Parker worked on various events, refining skills in camera operation, video production, lighting, and audio recording. Highlights included filming B-roll for *FoodCorps Presents: We Are Culinary History*, interviews for *Jack Daniels Presents: Art, Beats & Lyrics*, and panels such as *L'Oréal Presents: Reclaiming Our Beauty*, *Dreaming Forward*, and *Black Representation in Film and TV*. Parker also filmed the *Jazz Brunch* with Keyon Harrold and the *Salute to Black Queer Expression* panel.
THE AUTHOR SERIES
At *The Author Series*, Parker contributed to several author discussions, focusing on camera operation and audio recording. Events included Frank Bruni and Mara Liasson discussing *The Age of Grievance*, Amor Towles and Beth Macy talking about *Table for Two*, Percival Everett and Barbara Phillips discussing *James*, and Joan Nathan and Ruth Reichl presenting their new books with Francis Lam. Throughout these sessions, Parker ensured the capture of high-quality visuals and sound for each insightful conversation.
FREELANCE
During Parker's internship at MVTV from March to July 2024, they gained hands-on experience in video production, receiving one-on-one training twice a week. Parker learned to operate the Panasonic HC-X2 camcorder, effectively color grade footage, and use Premiere Pro for editing. In addition to the internship, Parker also worked on a live panel and interview shoot for Paakow Essandoh, Founder and CEO of Mizizi, an African diaspora streetwear brand that celebrates cultural identity and community. The shoot involved capturing a dynamic conversation and panel, highlighting Mizizi’s focus on blending cultural heritage with modern streetwear fashion.
